[Chapter Five: Heat]
The next day passed much like the others had, without incident. The two boys were on their way to their final class and Christoph was currently teasing Richard about see Father Lindemann after last night’s event. “So are you nervous about seeing him again?” Christoph asked grinning. “No.” Richard said flatly, trying not to show that he actually was nervous. “Uh-huh. Sure, I can tell by the way your clutching your book to your chest like a school girl about to ask her crush out for a date.” Christoph snickered. Richard took the book he was holding and smacked his friend lightly with it. “Shut up.”
Once in their seats they waited for class to start. Strolling into the room and not waiting for the students to cease their chatter, Father Lindemann spoke “Alright class, we don’t have much time to waste today. As you know you have a test today and then Mass in about forty minutes. So let’s get to business.”
As he said the last part, Father Lindemann let his gaze linger a bit on Richard, sending a brief but smoldering look. Richard felt Christoph kick him softly and turned to look at him and saw a knowing look upon his friend’s face so he stuck out his tongue in response. Turning back to face the front as the tests were passed out, he stiffened as Father Lindemann stood before him and placed his test on his desk before moving on. He was so close he could smell the uniquely delicious heady scent that the teacher wore. He smelled of dragon’s blood candles, cinnamon, and a hint of black liquorice all combined together to make an intoxicating smell that made Richard’s blood boil. Snapping out of his haze, Richard began to fill out the test in front of him. Forty minutes later they were ushered from the classroom into the main part of the church. “I saw the way he was looking at you; he’s definitely interested in you.” Christoph whispered as they saw down on the very last pew. “I think you were just seeing things Christoph.” Richard whispered back. Christoph responded by giving Richard a look that said ‘Yeah and pigs fly.’
The service began and Richard saw a familiar figure at the altar, it was Father Hirsch and that meant Paul was somewhere nearby. Nudging Christoph, Richard whispered “Look Father Hirsch is here, that means that guy I told you about is here. We need to find him after this.” Christoph nodded, remembering Richard said he made friends with the priest’s driver and that he would sneak them out for some fun.
Now it was time for the Eucharist to be distributed so they stood in line to wait to receive their sacrament. As the line grew shorter, Richard noted with shock that Father Lindemann was the one distributing the wine and bread. ‘This is going to be interesting.’ Richard thought. Christoph must have been on the same wavelength as him, because he felt Christoph poke him in the ribs and could hear him giggling quietly.
Now they were three people away from Father Lindemann, Richard caught the priest’s eye and that same fiery look appeared. Now stepping up the few small stairs, Richard stood before Father Lindemann who wore a faint smirk upon his enticing lips. Richard kneeled down before him as custom to recieve his sacrament. He then placed the thin wafer-like bread into Richard’s mouth, purposely dragging his thumb across Richard’s lower lip. Then he held the golden chalice up to the boy’s mouth to drink, desire clouding his blue-green eyes causing them to appear darker than normal. Giving a scalding look all his own, Richard stood and stepped back and sauntered down the stairs feeling Father Lindemann’s gaze searing holes into his back.
The service ended and Richard walked back up to the dais with Christoph not too far behind. Walking over to where Father Hirsch was speaking to Father Lindemann, Richard waited until it was appropriate to interrupt. “Excuse me Father Hirsch?” Richard said. “Yes? Oh, Richard! How are things faring for you at school so far?” Father Hirsch said pleasantly. “School’s going great, I’m a lot happier here.” Richard said, putting on his ‘good boy’ act and also noticing how Father Lindemann never took his eyes off him.
“That’s wonderful, I’m glad you’ve found comfort in this great institution. What can I help you with?” The elder priest said kindly. “Well, when your driver brought me here he forgot to give me one of my bags. Do you know where I can find him?” Richard asked looking all the part of an innocent school boy.
Father Hirsch gave Richard directions to the guest house and Richard thanked the man and bid both priests good day and departed, still feeling the weight of Father Lindemann’s gaze on his lithe form. When they were outside Christoph could no longer contain himself. “Oh my god! Did you see how Father Lindemann was looking at you! It was like he was undressing you with his eyes, and then during Communion he looked like he wanted to put more than that measly little cracker in your mouth.”
Richard had to laugh at that. “Yeah and I wanted him to.” He said lewdly. Pushing Richard in jest, Christoph said “Your bad and now your vulgarities are starting to rub off on me. Didn’t you say that Paul is hot?” Richard nodded. “Yeah, he has a really nice ass too. Not as nice as you-know-who, but damn close!” Christoph looked thoughtful for a second before bursting in laughter. “Perhaps I should start my own tryst with an older man, ‘cause you seem to be having all the fun. Plus I want someone to look at me the way he does to you, it’s like he’s trying to burn your clothes off with his eyes. It’s a wonder that no one noticed.”
After walking a good distance the guest house came in to sight. “Damn, I didn’t realize how big this place was.” Richard remarked. “I know, I think the school sits on about a hundred acres or something like that. Usually students don’t venture this far out.” Nodding his head, Richard retained that bit of information for later use. Walking up to the door Richard knocked, but there was no response. Turning the door knob and finding it was unlocked, the two boys stepped into the house. Walking through the kitchen and into the living room where they heard light snoring, they found Paul dozing on the couch seconds away from dropping his lit cigarette onto his chest.
Swiftly walking over to the sleeping man, Richard snatched the cigarette out of Paul’s hand right as he was about to burn himself. Feeling something being pulled out of his hand, Paul woke with a start. “What the-“ He said sleepily. “Hey Paul, it’s me Richard remember?” Richard said taking a drag of Paul’s half smoked cigarette. Rubbing his eyes, Paul sat up and looked at Richard. “Yeah, of course I remember you kid.” Gesturing over to Christoph who was trying to stifle his laughter, Paul asked “Who’s he?”
“That’s my friend Christoph. Don’t worry he’s cool.” Richard explained. “Christoph this is Paul.” He said, introducing the man. “Hey.” Christoph said somewhat shyly. Paul nodded his head in his direction “What’s up.” Each boy sitting on a piece of furniture, Richard asked “So are you gonna take us out on the town?” Yawning, Paul shrugged and replied “I dunno. It’s still quite early and neither of you should really be here.”
“Oh come on Paul! Please? I’m begging you plus you promised me.” Richard pouted. Unable to resist Richard’s charms, Paul caved in. “Alright, alright. I’ll take you. Meet me at the part of the woods that are to the left of the main building at eleven o’clock sharp. If you’re not there I’m leaving without you, ok?”
Both Richard and Christoph nodded their head fervently agreeing to meet at the designated spot. Suddenly they heard a door open on the opposite side of the house and someone walk in. Bolting upright Paul shoved the two boys out the back door and plopped back down on the couch trying to look innocuous.
The heavy footsteps drew near and finally entered the room where Paul sat. “Were you just now talking to someone Paul?” Father Lindemann asked as he pulled the white fabric from his shirt collar and sat across from the other man. Paul shook his head. “No, Till. Well technically I was. I just got off the phone.” Raising a brow at Paul’s conflicting answer knowing something was amiss, Till decided to dismiss it and pour himself a glass of brandy instead.
[Chapter Six: Uninhibited]
The boys laughed and joked as they finally entered their room from dinner, both excited for tonight’s outing. “Richard you need to tell me your secret for attracting all these good looking males!” Christoph exclaimed as he searched through his regular clothing trying to find something to wear. Richard merely shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t do anything in particular, they just seem to flock to me.” Chuckling a bit Christoph replied “Well aren’t you lucky, I wish I were blessed with your prowess. Damn, I can’t find anything to wear.”
“I have something you can borrow.” Richard said digging through is bag. “Here take this, do you have any black jeans to go with it?” Christoph took the black shirt with shiny silver skull on the front and took his school shirt off. “I have some black jeans in my bag.” He said. Richard pulled out a black shirt with stripy sleeves and some low rise black jeans. Entering the bathroom, Richard went through his normal ritual of primping before going out. Once he was finished he stepped out to see Christoph changed and sitting on his bed. “You look good.” Richard complimented thinking to himself about how this new look suited the boy. “Thanks.” Came the reply. Getting an idea, Richard walked back into the bathroom to grab something and walked up to Christoph.
“What?” Christoph asked seeing the glint in Richard’s eyes. Holding up his eyeliner, Richard asked if he could line the boy’s eyes, once he received consent he proceeded with the task. When he felt the make-up was applied perfectly he told him to go look in the mirror. “Wow.” Christoph said as he exited the bathroom. “This makes my eyes really stand out. I’m totally gonna have to get some of my own.”
Realizing it was almost time for their rendezvous, they made to leave; first peeking into the hallway to see if anyone was still up. Luckily for them most of the schools inhabitants were early to bed early to rise, even though the next day was Saturday. Under the cover of darkness the two boys snuck to their predetermined meeting place. Hearing some snapping of branches and then someone curse, Richard called out “Paul, over here!” The footsteps came closer and out of the brush, Paul appeared. “Ready to go?” Stepping over to Paul, both boy gave a simultaneous “Hell yeah.”
Creeping through the woods a bit they came to a locked iron fence; producing the key to the padlock, Paul unlocked it and pulled the chain from the fence. Stepping through, Paul made sure to lock the gate behind them. Motioning for the boys to hurry, they swiftly walked to the front of main building where the car sat. Once the doors were unlocked, Richard got into the passenger seat, while Christoph jumped into the spacious backseat. Paul turned the ignition to the car and drove down the long road up to the main gate. Pressing the buzzer to open the gate, he turned on to the main road.
Once they made it away from the school without incident, they all let out a cheer for not getting caught. Turning to Paul, Richard asked “So how long are you gonna be staying here?” “Until tomorrow evening, usually I stay for two weeks like I told you but Father Hirsch has some other business to attend to elsewhere.” Paul explained and Richard nodded. “Hey Richard, can you reach into my pocket and pull out my pack of cigarettes?”
“Yeah sure.” Richard then reached into his pocket and pulled out what was requested, feeling that the box was light he said “There’s nothing in here.” Smirking, Paul said “Yeah there is, just open the box.” Opening the box as told, Richard saw what looked to be a hand rolled cigarette. “It’s this what I think it is?” He asked. “Yeah it is, now take it out and light it.” Paul said laughing. “Hell yeah, it’s been a long time since I smoked this stuff.” Richard said as he lit the joint and it’s pungent scent filled the air. Taking a couple of hits and then passing it to Paul, Richard asked “So how far away are we going?”
“About thirty minutes away.” Paul said between puffs. “Hey Christoph, do you want any of this?” “Of course.” Came the reply. Christoph then took the joint and took a few drags from it and started coughing. “Damn, that shit is strong.” He said after his coughing fit. Paul laughed and said “I know, I only get the best.”
As the car flew down the road, the males talked about a whole slew of things until they arrived at their destination. Parking the car on the side of the street, they got out of the car and walked into the quaint little pub. Ignoring some of the odd looks from some of the patrons, they picked a table and waited to be served.
Once the waitress came Paul ordered for all of them, starting them off with a several shots of liquor. Downing the russet colored drink, Richard reveled in the after burn it left in his throat. “Thanks Paul for bringing us out, it’s the freest I’ve felt in a while and I’m sure it’s the freest Christoph has ever felt.” Richard said as he laughed at the face Christoph made a he tried another shot of a different liquor.
“No need to thank me, kid. After what you’ve told me you deserve it and more.” Paul replied humbly. He then ordered two glasses of frosty beer for the boys and watched them chug the drinks down. Looking at his watch Paul realized that they needed to head back soon so he could get some semblance of sleep before his long trip back. Standing from the table he asked “Are you guys ready to go?” Both boys nodded, Richard too deep in thought to verbalize and Christoph too drunk to form a sentence.
When Christoph stood up Paul had to catch him since he couldn’t seem to stand on his own. “Thanks.” The boy slurred causing Paul to shake his head and laugh as they left, Paul assisting Christoph to the car. “Let me guess, this is his first time drinking?” Paul asked. Nodding his head and starting to laugh too, Richard replied “Yes, I vaguely remember him saying that earlier.”
Once in the car Richard pulled out a cigarette package from his pocket, opening it he realized he was on his last cigarette. Sighing his stuck the cigarette in his mouth and lit it. “Where’d you get that lighter?” Paul asked sternly startling Richard from his thoughts. Piping up from the back seat Christoph slurred out “He got it from the teacher who has the hots for him. Father Lindemann.” Richard wanted to smack Christoph, but it would do no good since he had passed out in the back seat. Looking over at Paul Richard saw that he looked livid, unsure of what to say he just remained silent.
“How.” Was all Paul said, confused Richard repeated “How what?” Shaking his head Paul spoke “How did you attain that lighter?” Now understanding the question, Richard answered giving the censored version of the story. Despite not telling Paul the complete story, he still seemed to be quite intuitive (and what Christoph said didn’t help either). “Look Richard, I’m not going to tell you what to do. You obviously have a good head on your shoulders and you remind me a lot of myself when I was your age. All I have to say is be careful and not for the reasons you’ve probably already considered” He paused and sighed “He’s like fire, warm and inviting. But like fire he is also wild and untamed. Don’t be fooled by his façade or you’ll get burned too.” With that Paul fell silent and it remained that way for the rest of the car ride.
Pulling the car in front of the building, the two males got out of the car; Richard having to assist Christoph in getting out and walking. Going through the gate, Paul whispered to Richard “Come with me to the guest house really quick so I can give you something for the massive hangover he’s gonna have in the morning.” Nodding Richard continued behind Paul, with Christoph still clutching on to him for support. Once at the guesthouse, Paul motioned for them to wait outside while he retrieved the medicine from his bag. Placing two pills in Richard’s hand he said “Make sure he takes those as soon as he wakes or he’s gonna feel like shit for the rest of the day. I’m leaving in the morning so I won’t be able to say good bye, but I will be back the second week of next month. Take care of yourself and remember what I said about him.” Nodding and saying his good-byes Richard waited for Paul to enter the house before he dragged Christoph back to their room.
Sitting down on the couch Paul poured some brandy in a glass as he shook his head thinking about his young friend. “Did you have fun?” Till asked stepping into the room. Paul almost choked on his drink at the scare Till gave him. “Do you always have to sneak up on people?” Coming to stand before Paul, Till said smirking darkly “Yes, I find it to be a good way to catch people doing things they shouldn’t be.”
