Insignificant Other: Part 8 (Act II)
A few hours later she awoke to the murmuring of hushed voices nearby, stretching as much a she could in the enclosed space. She wanted to listen more intently, but the encroaching anxiety of being in small places started to make itself known in her psyche. She began to rock back and forth in her crate, trying to think of variety of different things trying to block out the delusions of the cage closing in around her and the hopeless feeling she always felt when locked in to enclosed spaces.
She slammed her eyes shut and softly yet swiftly repeated “I deserve this, I deserve this, I deserve this.” She failed to hear the approaching footfalls as she battled her inner demons and didn’t even notice the sheet being lifted from her enclosure. “Ja, liebchen you deserve everything you’re about to get.” Meister sneered. Tatjana looked up only to be blinded by an extremely bright light only allowing her to see the familiar hulking figure of her Meister looming menacingly above her.
She heard the padlocks click open and the cage door squealing announcing her freedom. But was it really freedom? Wasn’t she being taken from the dank abysmal darkness and being pitched head first the depths of an inferno? Tatjana did not know at this point which was the lesser of two evils, but she resigned herself to her fate, she really did deserve this after all she did break one of the main stipulations of the contract she made with her Meister. If he wanted to he could throw her out if he wanted to, it stated so in their contract.
Meister stood from her crouched position and tried to look at Meister again trying to catch a glimpse of his face to try and determine what he was feeling at the moment, but that blasted light did nothing but make her squint her eyes. Meister’s hand reached out and grabbed her delicate neck pulling her closer and then snapping a leather collar around her neck, then tracing his fingers along Tatjana’s full lips. “That light is very bright, isn’t it my pet? “ “It’s a police interrogation light, it’s amazing what you can procure when you have fans in the right places.” Meister divulged.
Looping his finger in one of the rings hanging from the collar led her over to the stocks all the while the interrogation light following each step the took together completely bathing Meister in impenetrable light. When they reached the stocks her robe was brutishly torn from here and she was roughly placed into the stocks and secured in. Tatjana detested the stocks; she hated the way the wood chafed against her neck and wrists and forced her to stand bent forward in an awkward position. Meister made sure she was secured in the stocks and then signaled for the light to be positioned in front of her blocking out all ability to see past the light.
Closing her eyes again to fight off the black spots dancing in her vision, hearing someone walk over and stand before her Tatjana fought the urge to crack open an eye knowing it would be futile. The rustling of fabric came closer and her curiosity got the best of her and she slowly opened one eye but ended up slamming it back closed as they had moved the light even closer to her. The figure in front of her reached out and harshly grabbed her face then he proceeded to run something cold and sharp across her both cheeks. “Don’t move, pet.” Said Meister from across the room. The blade continued downward toward her neck, pressing in to her skin at random intervals, Tatjana began to shiver in slight fear.
Her tormentor gave out a deceptively sweet sounding laugh, and then ran the blade further down making sure to press a bit harder on where her pulse was racing causing her to suck in a breath. Tatjana began to sweat, from the intense heat of the lamp, the exertion from standing in an unnatural position, and from the sheer nervousness of what was to come. As if sensing her discomfort the new tormentor moved to the right of her and bent down to grab a bucket. He stepped back in front of Tatjana and dumped the bucket of ice cold water over her and was rewarded with a started shriek. The sweet sound of lilting laughter resounded in the room once more along with the rumbling laughter of her Meister.
Upon hearing that saccharine tittering, realization dawned upon her and somehow she found her voice and stammered out “S-Schneider?” Upon hearing his name fall from her lips his angelic face twisted into a vicious sneer, he stepped forward and wrenched Tatjana’s head upward by her hair, leaned forward and savagely bit her cheek, leaving indentions in her cheek. Tatjana let out a pained cry. “Don’t you dare speak my name, bitch.”
To be continued…
